Regular Citrus County Commission Meeting

Citrus Co., FL-- The Citrus County Commission will meet on Tuesday, January 8 at 1 p.m. at 110 N. Apopka Avenue, Room 100 in Inverness. Beginning at 1:15 p.m., the Board will present Certificates and Proclamations.

  • Certificate of Recognition to the Employee of the Month
  • Certificate of Recognition for Lowes Inverness Store, Beverly Hills Surveillance Unit and the Craftsman’s Guild Inc. for co-sponsoring and supporting the Adopt-A-Tree event held at the Central Ridge Community Center at Beverly Hills on December 14, 2012.   

Open to the public will be at 1:30 p.m.  Public Hearings will begin at 2 p.m. The first will be to consider application SV-12-03, a street vacation application by the Department of Planning and Development for the Department of Public Works regarding roadways in the Crystal River Airport area.

At 2:10 p.m. there will be a public hearing to discuss State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) rental development strategy 2013. 

At 2:30 p.m. County Administrator Brad Thorpe will present his first budget forecast review detailing the budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2013-14.

County Administrator Brad Thorpe will also discuss the Interlocal Agreement with the Citrus County School Board, concurrency and impact fees.  Mr. Thorpe will direct staff on any action the Board wishes to take with regard to these issues.

Mr. Thorpe will also approve and authorize the Chairman to execute the agreement titled the Citrus County Port Authority and TranSystems for the purpose of preparing a feasibility study for Port Citrus.

The meeting, which begins at 1 p.m. in the courthouse in Inverness, is televised live on cable TV on Channel 622 on Brighthouse and Channel 9 on Comcast. The agenda is also available beforehand at the Lecanto Government Building and in the Commissioners’ suite on the second floor of the courthouse in Inverness.
