Help those pets in need by donating pet food

Citrus County Animal Services officials want citizens to remember the pets of those who must rely on local food banks for help during these difficult economic times.

Operations Manager, Pattie Amon said concerned citizens have been helping, but the food supplies have gotten low again. On behalf of the owners and their animals who have been helped by donations, she thanks all those who have contributed for their continuing generosity which helps others keep their beloved pets.

You can help those residents keep their animals rather than surrender them to the shelter because they can’t afford to feed them by donating pet food to your local food bank or to the Animal Shelter in Inverness.

For more information, call 746-8400.

Donations can be sent to: Citrus County Animal Services; 4030 So. Airport Road, Inverness, FL 34450.

The shelter is located at the end of Airport Road, which is off U.S. 41 between the Inverness Airport and the county auditorium/fairgrounds, just south of Inverness.
