Arrest made in Inverness Murder

Inverness, FL - A day after the body of a 57-year old Inverness woman was found behind her rural home, authorities have made an arrest in the case.

Officials say they picked up 69-year old Bob Jay Parsons Tuesday afternoon in connection with the murder of Arlene Preg.

The two lived together in a home at 2108 E. Mary Lue Street.

Preg's body was discovered underneath a sheet of plywood behind the couple's home by one of Preg's daughters on Monday. However, Parsons was no where to be found.

Citrus County, Florida -  Cocoa resident Christopher Jonathan Albritton, 31, has been arrested in Citrus County after he responded to an ad online that he thought would lead to a sexual encounter with a 14-year-old girl via her mom.

The arrest report says that Albritton responded to an online ad placed by undercover officers back in March. The ad promised a a "single mom" and her 14-year-old daughter who were looking for "family fun." 

Albritton graphically described in text messages what he would like to do sexually with the 14-year-old. He wanted the girl to answer the door in only a towel so that he could perform oral and anal sex on her, and wanted her to perform oral sex on him.

Crystal River, Florida -- According to a Citrus County Sheriff's Office statement, at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Citrus County Sheriff’s Office dispatchers received a call about an armed robbery at Bob’s Liquor located at 6601 W. Gulf to Lake Highway. The two suspects reportedly were armed with handguns.

The on-duty clerk told officials that two white male subjects parked across the street from the liquor store, then crossed SR 44 and entered the store. Both pointed their guns at the clerk, and ordered him to the floor.

One suspect went directly behind the counter and removed bills from the cash register. He also retrieved coins from below the counter. Along with the undetermined amount of money, the suspects left the store with liquor bottles and cigarettes, making their getaway.

Police search for man involved in Inverness home invasion

Inverness, FL -- The Citrus County Sheriff's Office is looking for three men who broke into a home around 5 p.m. on Wednesday in Inverness and stabbed a man.

Alex Merrick, 18, of 4238 S. Ember Trail, told CCSO deputies he heard a knock on his back door and when he opened it he was jumped by three Hispanic males wearing dark clothing and looking unkempt. Merrick was home alone at the time. He suffered a cut just below his left eye, plus multiple puncture wounds to his right arm, back and legs. None appeared to be life-threatening, according to the CCSO.
