New Recycling Drop-off Center in NW Citrus County
New Recycling Drop-off Center in NW Citrus County

Citrus County, Florida-- Citrus County's carbon footprint could soon decrease, or at least that's the hope as the Division of Solid Waste Management announces the addition of a new Recycling Drop-off Center in the northwest part of the county.

According to county commissioners, officials feel the new center's location will make it convenient for more residents to recycle, so the county as a whole can come closer to meeting established recycling goals.

The new site is located in Citronelle, "a previously underserved area", near Citronelle Park. Residents in that part of the county may now recycle the following materials there:

  • Newspaper
  • Corrugated Cardboard
  • Fiberboard (cereal-type boxes)
  • All types of paper (computer paper, junk mail, magazines, etc.)
  • Aluminum cans and clean aluminum foil
  • Steel (tin) cans
  • Glass bottles and jars
  • Plastics #1 through #7 (NO Styrofoam)
  • Household aerosol cans
  • Aseptic containers (juice boxes)

As for household trash, tires, paint, electronics and household hazardous waste, they are NOT acceptable at any of the County’s recycling centers.
