Parrotheads to party at Pine Street Jam

Inverness, Florida-- The City of Inverness hopes locals who love Jimmy Buffet will attend the upcoming "Parrothead Street Party" on North Pine. 

The event is scheduled for Saturday, August 3rd at 105 N. Pine, and there's no need to worry about it being "5 O' Clock Somewhere." The party starts at 6 p.m. and should last through 11.

Citrus County Offers First Time Homebuyers Class

Citrus County Housing Services is offering First Time Homebuyers classes to interested individuals.  One classroom session will be held this month.  There is no charge to attend these sessions, but you must reserve your seat. 

Participants who attend the entire session will receive a Certificate of Completion that is required for Neighborhood Stabilization Program and other first time homebuyer assistance programs.

Inverness, Florida -- Cars and trucks from all decades will assemble in the plaza of the Inverness Government Center on Friday, July 19. 

There will be classics, antique and sports, imports and more. There will also be music, valve cover car racing, 50/50 prizes and lots more fun.

There is no cost to enter.

The event will be held at Inverness Government Center plaza at 212 West Main Street from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Swimming lessons for the whole family

Inverness, Florida -- Whispering Pines Park is offering the whole family swim lessons for the summer!

They have swim lessons from 6 months old to adult. There are three morning sessions available starting June 3, June 17 and July 8th. Evening sessions begin June 4 and July 9th.

The cost for the eight class swim session is only $35!

All classes follow the American Red Cross curriculum and all of the instructors are certified Water Safety Instructors.

Beverly Hills, Florida-- This summer the Central Ridge Library in Beverly Hills is offering reading classes for young archaeologists to dig deep with their imaginations with "Dig into Reading!" and "Beneath the Surface." 

Learn and have fun all summer long with stories, crafts, games, and special classes. K to 5 classes will be held on Fridays from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m.

Citrus County, Florida-- The Citrus County Animal Services Mobile adoption unit will be at Walmart in Homosassa with adoptable pets on Saturday, June 29, 2013.

Animals can be adopted on-site from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., so head out there and scoop up your new best friend!
