Deputies give fallen officer's home a makeover

CRYSTAL RIVER, Florida -- The family of fallen St. Pete police officer David Crawford received a surprise gift from an unlikely place on Thursday.

Armed with lawn mowers, power washers, and rakes, about 20 Citrus County sheriff's deputies took over Crawford's Crystal River home all morning long to give it a makeover.

"All we can do is pull together and be there for each other," said deputy Scotty Roush.

For months, Crawford and his wife wanted to cleanup and make improvements to the outside of their house. In part because of his two hour daily commute to St. Pete, they just never found the time to do it.
