Enjoy holiday decorations, thousands of lights and hundreds of luminaries in the natural park setting of Fort Cooper State Park, December 7th through the 9th. Bring the children for a visit with Santa on Friday and Saturday nights.

Inverness, FL--  For the past seventeen years, the Citrus County Historical Society has sponsored “Christmas Trees Around the Old Courthouse”. A band of Elves, members and friends of the Historical Society, will erect the trees on Saturday, November 24, 2012.

 

This event is not a fundraising effort, but entirely devoted as a service to the community and to coordinate the various civic clubs and organizations within the county, who sponsor a tree.

Reminder!! Postal Service to collect toys at mailboxes December 1

Tampa, FL-- It seems early to start thinking of the holidays, but the Suncoast District of the U.S. Postal Service wants to inform its customers of their upcoming toy drive. 

10 News told you all about it earlier this month, but we want to make sure you give yourselves enough time to get out there and pick up a toy to donate.

The collection will take place on December 1, exactly two weeks from today!  The Postal Service will pick up the toys from customers who are able to leave them by their mailboxes, or in bins at the nearest post office.

Crystal River, Florida -- The 17th Annual Citrus Stampede Rodeo is coming to the Citrus County Fairgrounds in Inverness this weekend! 

Shows start Friday, Nov. 16 and Saturday, Nov. 17 at 8 p.m.  Gates open at 5:30 p.m.  Come early to enjoy mechanical bull riding, great food, kids’ games and pony rides and plenty of vendor merchandise to buy.

Citrus County, FL-- The Spot Family Center has announced the beginning of their annual toy drive, which helps make a difference for children in need during the holiday season.

The drive has upped their 2011 goal of receiving 4,000 toys to 4,500 this year. The ambitious goal was set in place to "ensure that every local child (ages 2 to 17) in need receives a gift," explains a release about the drive.

Postal Service to collect toys at mailboxes December 1

Tampa, FL-- It seems early to start thinking of the holidays, but the Suncoast District of the U.S. Postal Service wants to inform its customers of their upcoming toy drive. 

On December 1, the Postal Service asks those customers who are able to leave unwrapped toys by their mailboxes, or in bins at the nearest post office. 

The toys will support the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation to "brighten the holiday for less fortunate children."

Inverness, Florida -- Pet lovers can attend a fun event this Sunday, November 4.  

Citrus County Animal Services is inviting you and your pet to "Bark in the Park" at the Inverness Elks Lodge.  

The lodge is located at 3580 East Lemon Street in Hernando, that's next to the Lake Hernando Boat Ramp.  

There will also be a pancake breakfast from 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., and lunch available from noon to 3 p.m.
