Friday Night Thunder is back!

Inverness, Florida-- Friday Night Thunder is back this month!

Organizers say the free show presents more than 60 antique, classic, sport and imported cars. 

It's scheduled to take place on Friday, August 17 from 5 - 8 p.m. at 212 W. Main Street

Storm drain repair on W. Riverwood Dr. in Citrus River

Crystal River, Florida -- The Citrus County Road Maintenance Division will be repairing part of W. Riverwood Dr. in Crystal River from Monday, August 13 to Monday, August 20.

The roadway on W. Riverwood Dr. between N. Evenstock Way to W. Flaxen Drive will be closed so crews can replace a failing storm drainage cross drain.

Closure signs and detour routes will be posted for drivers in the area.

Inverness, Florida-- The Inverness Government Center Council Chambers will once again be transformed into an Early Voting facility for the Primary & General elections.

Early Voting for the Primary election begins Saturday, August 4, and ends Saturday, August 11.

Saturday & Sunday hours are 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., with Monday through Friday hours lasting from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.

During the days of Early Voting, all precinct voters can use the Inverness Government Center to cast their vote.

Citrus County, Florida-- The Board of County Commissioners voted during the regular board meeting on Tuesday, July 24 to set a special meeting for a public hearing on the adoption of two resolutions related to the 2010 Citrus County/ City of Crystal River Wastewater Special Assessment District-Areas 112 and 113. 

This unanimous vote came after concerns were raised regarding the Notice. The board decided to pull the Public Hearing from the agenda and set a special meeting.

Citrus Co. Utilities Rebate Program

Citrus County, Florida-- Citrus County Utilities has kicked off the 2012 rebate program.

Utility customers are offered rebates of up to $100 on an annual basis as incentive to replace older, inefficient fixtures with new, high-efficiency products.

Qualifying products include replacing old toilets, rain sensors and clothes washing machines, as well as adding moisture sensors to irrigation systems.
