Tampa, Florida-- An assessment team will take a close look at the USF Police Department and all of its standard operating procedures next month, and you can weigh in on the outcome.

A team of people from the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation (CFA) will arrive Tuesday, August 7, Chief Thomas G. Longo announced in a release. He said the team will examine various aspects of USFPD, including:

Citrus High Class Reunion

Citrus County, Florida-- Citrus High School's class of 1982 will get together this weekend for their 20th reunion. 

According to the City of Inverness, reunion events are scheduled for Friday night and Saturday.

Friday night, July 6:  A mixer will take place at Stumpknockers on the Square in historic downtown Inverness beginning at 7 p.m.

Saturday, July 7:  DJ music will play poolside at The Plantation in Crystal River at noon. The evening’s event is from 6 p.m. to midnight, and will include dinner, entertainment, door prizes and "just plain fun."

Lecanto, Florida -- To honor the life of colleague and friend Gary Maidhof, there will be a Celebration of Life ceremony Saturday, June 9, at the College of Central Florida in Lecanto from 6 - 9 p.m.

The night will begin with an open house until 7 p.m., at which time a light-hearted and fun remembrance of Gary will take place.   At the end of the program, there will be an open mic opportunity for anyone who wishes to say a few words about Gary.

Two students earn STEPS scholarships

Two students earn STEPS scholarships

Citrus County, Florida-- Two Citrus County elementary school students are receiving scholarships through STEPS (Scholarships Taking Elementary Promising Students). 

The scholarships provide students with the financial means to pay for their college education at Central Florida. 

Robert Hayden is a fifth grader at Floral City Elementary and was awarded a STEPS scholarship last week. 

A student from Pleasant Grove Elementary will also receive the scholarship.

Reality star to celebrity bartend for Lecanto Primary End of Year Bash

Citrus County, Florida-- Television personality Rachel E. Reilly, Big Brother All Star winner and Amazing Race finalist, will be a celebrity bartender for the Lecanto Primary School PTO End of Year Black and White Bash.

The event takes place on June 2 at The Grove Downtown, Inverness, Florida from 9 p.m. - 2 a.m., and will raise funds to benefit Lecanto Primary School's Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) for the upcoming school year.
