Forecast: Cold air arrives

A cold front now moving through the area will bring rain showers this morning, gusty and cool northwest winds all day and eventually freeze warnings for parts of the Bay area tonight. 

The first half of the day will include a few showers this morning followed by gradually clearing skies.  Winds will be very gusty blowing in the 15-25 mph range from the NW with gusts in the 30s.  Skies will begin to clear by noon today leaving us with sunny, cool and windy conditions for the afternoon.  Temperatures will stay in the mid to low 60s and decrease quickly this evening into the 50s then 40s. 

Freeze warnings are in effect for Citrus County and places northward tonight.  Temperatures will drop to near or just below the freezing mark from 2am to 8am.  You will want to cover those sensitive plants tonight.   A Freeze Watch is in effect for tomorrow night as the cold air remains in place.  Temperatures will top out in the 60s through Saturday then approach 70 by Sunday.  Skies will be mainly clear and the air will be dry.  Red Flag Warnings, dangerous fire conditions, will likely be with us through the weekend.

Today: Clouds and showers this morning, followed by sunshine this afternoon.  It will be windy all day with winds blowing NW 15-25 mph with higher gusts.  Temperatures will stay in the mid 60s all day today and decrease into the 50s late this afternoon.

Tonight: Cold and clear with Freeze Warnings for Citrus County northward.  Winds will decrease to the N 5-10 mph.  Lows in the lower 40s in Tampa, colder north.

Marine Forecast: Small Craft Advisory in effect with winds NW 15-25kts with seas 5-8'.  The Bay and inland coastal waters will be rough.  It will remain breezy through Thursday.
